QIN CHONG

An ovum symbolizes beginning. As from the very first beginning every living being consciously or unconsciously collects memories and gains experiences, anything is possible, can be done and obtained, e.g. through listening, smelling, observing, good and bad.

During our lives, be it deliberately or not, we assemble not only what we like but also unpleasant things, we accumulate knowledge, though there still remain lots of things we do not know. And this is how a very large model ovum is formed.

The installation “Ova” is made of numerous empty paper bags, corded up with sisal. Whatever hidden treasures these huge bags are giving shelter to - our today contains tomorrow’s results.
